On taking your own advice and realizing you’ve got it more together than you had previously thought:
The older this kid gets, the more I realize how much she teaches me.
Hi Ms. Solesbee!
It has been so long since I have written anything to you; life has just been busy.
Molly and I talked about you today, and Dominique and Anel mentioned you too last week, at different times even! After two years you have become one of our main memories from middle school: that is proof of the huge difference you make every single day.
I hope you have been doing great! Although I am pretty sure you have because you are great at life. I also hope you weren’t like that when you were my age; that’d mean that I could give my self a break from time to time (which I have learned is important).
I got some good news today: my GPA for semester 1 is 4.145 and I am proud of myself (which is also important).
I am moving to Europe next year! I do not know which country yet and that is a little scary but I will be fine (which is something you have taught me) and I will believe in me (which is something else you have taught me, although it sounds cheesy it had to be added).
There is a book I had been meaning to buy since 2009 but Books a Million never had it. If I would have known it was such a good book I would not have been lazy to order it. The book is called “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” it is amazing. Jonathan Safran Foer is a beautiful writer. I am happy the movie came out because Books a Million finally has the book and Anel bought it for me! It is the best book ever and if you haven’t read it you should! I read “Everything is Illuminated” by the same author and that is a great book also.
I can’t wait for your reply! So curious about what has been happening in your life. Please don’t think I didn’t write to you sooner because I didn’t care or forgot about it. I do care and had been meaning to write to you for a while.
Love,
Your favorite former student
